Cucumber is a typical venting vegetable in the garden. It does great job if they can climb along trellis instead of spread around the ground. The tendrils will grab netting, string or wire mesh for better air circulation and sunlight exposure. Without the cucumber trellis, venting plants will invade the rows leaving limited area for tiptoe through the vines.

Nylon trellis netting, plastic trellis, livestock panel trellis and string trellis all can be used in growing cucumbers. They can be vertical, horizontal or slanting. Each is functional to support cucumber stems and fruits.
